Listen to them. Stop doing whatever you are doing and focus on what they're telling you.
You are so right about saying you're sorry. Last week I had to do that with my littlest man, Andy. Hey, here's a question 4 U:
do kids benefit MORE from their p.'s paying for their college ed. OR if they pay for it themselves? The Cuban and I see this differently....surprise, surprise

Re. leadhership's question - it depends on the kid, but we think they need to assume they are going to have to earn scholarships and pay for it themselves, with parents throwing in extras like study abroad. i have a friend who is very well off, a cfo, who made her kids pay for college, then gave them 20k upon graduating, as a gift, for having made it!
